Places of Interest around the Dartmouth-Lake Sunapee Community

The Upper Valley is known as the region along the Connecticut River, bordering Vermont and New Hampshire. Comprised of many towns, all with something to offer- scenic routes, breath taking views, skiing, specialty shops, and restaurants. In New Hampshire, Lebanon features the renowned Opera House and the cultural AVA Art gallery. Hanover is home to Historic Dartmouth College. Across the river in Vermont, Norwich is known for their Farmers Markets, offering fresh produce grown by local farmers. Quechee and Woodstock are the, quintessential Vermont Towns.  This is only a small sampling of the New England ambiance you will find in the Upper Valley. VT

The Dartmouth-Lake Sunapee area of the U.S. state of New Hampshire, also frequently known as the Upper Valley, spans from Bradford northwest along Interstate 89 to New Hampshire's border with Vermont at the city of Lebanon.Dartmouth-Lake Sunapee It includes Hanover, hometown to Dartmouth College and the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center. Centered in this area is Lake Sunapee and the town of Sunapee. Many celebrities live on the shores of the lake, most notably Steve Tyler of the band Aerosmith. The name "Dartmouth-Lake Sunapee" is essentially contrived for the sake of convenience. Neither of the two areas is simply large enough to warrant its own calling or sign on I-89.

Seacoast, lakes and mountains, thriving small cities, picturesque villages, rolling farmland, and deep forests--New Hampshire has it all. It's easy to pack a lot into your vacation without a lot of driving, thanks to the state's modest size. Even if you only have a day or two, you can sample quite a bit of the state. For instance, one could have breakfast on the seacoast, and tour one of the many historic sites; then head north for lunch and an afternoon of shopping or relaxing by a lake; and have dinner and spend the night in the mountains.
